Curtis Widem

About

Curtis Widem is an artist/teacher who has just received his Master's Degree in Art Education from Adelphi University, along with the Dean's Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement in Art Education. He received his BFA from the University of Hartford Art School, with a Major in Experimental Studio and a Minor in English, Cum Laude. He's been a Teaching Artist for over six years, as well as a Special Education Teaching Assistant and Substitute Teacher. He’s taught at Brooklyn College’s Summer Program, the Boys and Girls Club, and various schools and non-profits in Connecticut and New York. His Thing Machine (Thing Machine), an info- comedy skit in a vending machine, has performed at the Guggenheim Museum, the NY Fringe Festival, the Wadsworth Atheneum, and dozens of other arts organizations and non-profits all over NYC, Connecticut and Massachusetts.

The artwork you're seeing is the culmination of eight years of photography, three years of drawing, and two years of printmaking and collage. Curtis has just begun to exhibit his art work, and is thrilled to present it on this website.
